The Centre for Dutch Studies is an interdisciplinary research centre, unique to the UK, bringing together all expertise at the University of Sheffield on the culture of the Low Countries. It aims to be a national and international focus for academic Dutch Studies and to stimulate a wider interest in the culture of the Low Countries locally and in the region.

The Centre was launched during the inauguration of the Peter King Collection on 21 April 2005.

In the 2005-2006 academic session the Centre will organise a number of research seminars and lectures. The Centre if also involved in cataloguing the Peter King Collection and is working on an inventory of expertise.
